From ACR Claims to Campus Accountability” Lecture to Address Digital Accessibility Risk in Higher Education

DENVER, CO., November 16-20

The upcoming lecture “From ACR Claims to Campus Accountability: Managing Digital Accessibility Risk” will be presented at the Accessing Higher Ground 2026 conference, taking place November 16–20, 2026, at the Hilton Denver City Center in Denver, Colorado.

The one-hour general conference session will focus on how higher education institutions can evaluate vendor Accessibility Conformance Reports, or ACRs, identify risk in vendor accessibility claims, and connect procurement review to campus accountability.

The session will be presented by Dr. Mark Turner, President of Optimal Solutions Group and Chief Product Designer of Revelo Software. Dr. Turner will discuss practical approaches for assessing ACR evidence, spotting red flags, strengthening contract expectations, and managing digital accessibility risk across platforms, websites, documents, and other digital content.

“ACRs can be useful, but they are vendor claims, not proof of accessibility,” said Dr. Turner. “Higher education institutions need a structured way to evaluate those claims, identify risk, and connect procurement decisions to campus accountability.”

Using Revelo Software’s ACR Evaluator as a case example, the lecture will show how structured ACR review can help institutions identify lower-risk products, flag products that require vendor clarification, and determine when independent validation, remediation planning, or ongoing monitoring may be needed.

The ACR Evaluator supports review of vendor-submitted ACRs and VPAT-based reports for completeness, consistency, currency, standards coverage, conformance claims, testing disclosures, evidence gaps, and potential overstatement of accessibility conformance.
